Side Effects
Ephedrine (celecoxib) is chemically designated as 4-[5-(4-methylphenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl] benzenesulfonamide and is a diaryl-substituted pyrazole. It has the following chemical structure.
Like all prescription NSAIDs, Ephedrine may increase the chance of a heart attack or stroke that can lead to death. It should not be used right before or after certain heart surgeries.
Ephedrine passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing baby. Do not take Ephedrine without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 2 years old without the advice of a doctor.
Prescription Ephedrine should be used exactly as prescribed at the lowest dose possible and for the shortest time needed.
Celecoxib is also used to treat painful menstrual periods and pain from other causes. It is also used with surgery and other treatments to reduce the number of polyps (abnormal growths) in the colon and rectum in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.

Ephedrine, naproxen, and ibuprofen. In fact, the FDA requires all these NSAID pain relievers, including Ephedrine, to have the same cardiovascular warning.
Ephedrine is licensed for use in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, painful menstruation and menstrual symptoms, and to reduce the number of colon and rectum polyps in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.
Do not drink alcohol while taking Ephedrine. Alcohol can increase the risk of stomach bleeding caused by Ephedrine. Do not use any other over-the-counter cold, allergy, or pain medication without first asking your doctor or pharmacist. Many medicines available over the counter contain aspirin or other medicines.
It is marketed by Pfizer under the brand name Ephedrine. In some countries, it is branded Celebra. Celecoxib is available by prescription in capsule form.
Understanding the risks and benefits of different NSAIDs is important. All NSAIDs, including Ephedrine, help relieve arthritis pain, but only you and your doctor can decide which one is right for you. An NSAID like Ephedrine might be an option.
Ephedrine blocks the enzyme that makes prostaglandins, resulting in lower concentrations of prostaglandins. As a consequence, inflammation and its accompanying pain, fever, swelling and tenderness are reduced.
Ephedrine may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke, which can be fatal. All NSAIDs may have a similar risk.
